We believe education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Here's how we make that happen.
At Novio, accessibility isn't an afterthought — it's a core principle. We are committed to ensuring that our platform, courses, and content are accessible to all learners, including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities.
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
Our accessibility efforts are ongoing. We regularly audit our platform, train our team, and iterate on feedback from our community to ensure continuous improvement.
Here's what we've implemented across the platform to ensure an inclusive experience.
Every interactive element — buttons, links, menus, forms, and modals — is fully navigable using only a keyboard. Tab, Enter, Escape, and arrow keys work as expected.
Our pages use semantic HTML5 elements and ARIA labels so screen readers like NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver can accurately convey page structure and content.
All text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) to ensure readability in all conditions.
All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology to reduce unnecessary noise.
Content adapts to all screen sizes and works at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling. Touch targets meet the recommended 44px minimum size.
Visible focus rings help keyboard and switch-device users track their position on the page. Focus order follows a logical top-to-bottom, left-to-right sequence.
Video content includes accurate closed captions. We're working toward providing transcripts for all audio and video course materials.
We use Inter, a highly legible typeface, with appropriate line heights and font sizes. Users can resize text up to 200% without loss of functionality.
Form errors are clearly identified with text descriptions and visual cues — not relying solely on color — so all users can understand and correct mistakes.
Windows screen reader — tested with Firefox and Chrome
Professional screen reader — tested with Chrome and Edge
macOS and iOS native screen reader — tested with Safari
Android screen reader — tested with Chrome for Android
While we strive for full conformance, some areas are still being improved:
